Ernesto the Prediction Iguana ended a mediocre regular season in fine fashion yesterday, going 5-1 overall and 2-1 in teasers to finish the regular season 23-21 in teasers 62-26 overall. Though that’s the worst finish he’s had in the last four years, (Dude was riding a ridiculous hot streak before!), we have high hopes for another excellent playoff run...
—by Jay Flemma, Special to Facewash Magazine— UTICA, NY – There was almost as much action before and after the Comets-Flames showdown at the Utica Aud as there was during it. Tempers flared early, often, and all game long…and even the clock showing 0.0 wasn’t the end. A replay review was needed before the final horn sounded on a 2-1...
Drat! What a crap-tastic week! 3-3 overall, just 1-2 in teasers, dropping the season totals to 21-20 in teasers, 57-25 overall. The stupid Raiders won again…grr! And then the Viqueens scored some points messing up my under play with them and the Fins. Oh well, one more week to go before thee playoffs. Warning! Beware of meaning less games with teams sitting...
TEXAS TOAST! COMETS COMEBACK STUNS STARS by Jay Flemma, Special to Facewash Magazine UTICA, NY – This was a different kind of win for the Comets. Sure it was another one goal win, another Cardiac Comets high-wire act, but this win was a different arrow in the quiver. This was the comeback win – and the Comets are going to need to know how to win those...
As usual, Ernesto the Prediction Iguana is hitting his stride at the right time! He had another 5-1 overall 2-1 in teasers week to lift the season totals to 54-22 overall, 20-18 in teasers! We’ve also done well with the Cabrera family as an adopted good luck charm, so while we won’t let Durban the Rhodesian Ridgeback make the picks, we’ll throw him...
Ernesto the Prediction Iguana went 4-0 in the early games, then got hosed by the Raiders, (nice going Niners), and the Seahawks, (why did he pick Sanchez??). But he rallied late to salvage a 2-2 week in teasers, 6-2 overall to bring the season totals to 49-21 overall, 18-17 in teasers. Here’s the picks for next week. And just like playoff teams turn it up in...

by Jay Flemma, Special to Facewash Magazine UTICA, NY – It was full-throated. It was sustained. It was almost defiant, (especially when aimed at Syracuse). And it had to be downright surreal being on the other team and skating in the middle of it. “U! TI! CA!” “U! TI! CA!” “U! TI! CA!” It’s bad enough when you’re...

Jazz the Cat went 2-1 in teasers last week, 5-1 overall, raising the season stats to 11-13 in teasers, 31-17 overall. This week, meet the world’s smartest cat, Barstow. Owned by uber-whiz-kid wunderkind Ian Clarke, Barstow has impressive sense of time. In the pic above he knows it’s 2:58 p.m. and in two minutes the feeder will release the last food of the...
Fans Ask “Is it our Time?” as Plucky Comets Steal Another win By Jay Flemma, Special to Facewash Magazine UTICA, NY – This was game the fans had been waiting for. Faith the Cat went 1-1, 2-2 so far in her picks. (She has the Eagles and the over tonight, so we’ll recalculate the stats next week, but right now we stand 25-15 overall, but only 9-11 in teasers.) This week Jazz takes his turn in the hot seat, the third of the four cats who sub in for a month while our normal animal prognosticator, Ernesto the Prediction...
