Tour players in SI Poll: Yes, The PLAYERS is a major

Well, here you go. The tour players voted in a landslide – 70% in favor of declaring The Players golf’s fifth major.

That’s “fifth of five,” Geoff Shackelford.

There is no need to resist this. Don’t be preconditioned and afraid of change. Embrace Sawgrass as hosting a major…after all, you can go play it.

Now by an even greater landslide, the players said they’d rather win the PGA Championship and $1,000,000 than the Gimmicky money grab…err…FedEx Cup and Ten Million!  Ouch, Tim.  That had to sting a little.

2. Q. Most overrated pro. A. By a five-to-one margin, Michelle Wie. I guess they didn’t drink that Kool-Aid about her being one of the 100 most influential people who shape Time Magazine’s world either. Either that or they read the box score on the sports page and judge by performance. Lemme see, actual tournament results or publicist’s spin? Not in golf baby. Save that crap for Lindsay Lohan.

3. Q. Should the PGA Tour get tough on performance enhancers? A. 73% Yes -“If there’s no testing, there’s no policy.” Come on Congress, where are you? One enforcement against MLB and watch how fast EVERY sport will fall in line. And make sure they include HGH!
