As expected, Barry Bonds’s trainer, Greg Anderson, refused to testify against his client and was remanded into the custody of corrections official. It’s the fifth time he’ll serve some sort of jail term for Bonds. It brings to mind that old conversation between Jackie Brown and Odelle Robbie…
“If I have to do any time for you up to a year, I want $100,000. If I get more than a year, I want another $100,000.”
That was 1995, and factoring in 16 years of inflation and the fact that we’re discussing baseball’s “Hone Run King” as opposed to a two-bit gun dealer, I think the price must be considerably higher.
