Videos of the WEAK! – NBA Vulgarity, Volleyball Tomfoolery

Three separate instances of NBA vulgarity have my Hogwarts in a knot today. First, Reggie Miller uses a crass profanity (the “T-word”) to describe an open three pointer. Thanks for proving that the Gentlemen’s Club atmosphere of the NBA is still its stock in trade. That comment had no business going out over the air. David Stern must be in spin overdrive between that and the sure-to-get-us-sued-by-DC Comics stunt that occurred during the slam dunk contest. The “S-shield” is a registered trademark of DC Comics; one which they protect rigorously.  They’ll be getting a nastygram from 1700 Broadway PDQ.
Next, did you hear what Dr. John and his playing partner sang during the halftime show?!?! Boy, Janet Jackson was tame by comparison. I guess when it’s prime time, you can sing:

See that lady dressed in red, Aiko Aiko all day, bet you anything she gives [expletive deleted] Aiko Aiko all day.

I’ve heard Aiko-Aiko a grillion times in my life and I never once heard THAT verse. But that’s NBA Entertainment for you: crass, brassy, in your face, and unapologetic. Is that the New Orleans you want to sell us? Somewhere, Jim Dolan is smiling.

Finally, while two of the “Semi-Pro” spots featuring Will Farrell were funny, the third relied on toilet humor and vulgarity and had no place running in front of kids. Farrell holds up a putrid Bud Light and says “Bud Light: Suck One.”

No Will…YOU do that, again and again and again.  Fat, washed-up, not funny, and overrated, that’s Will Farrell.
You know, just when you think it’s safe to watch NBA Basketball again because you think the game is being cleaned up, David Stern and his traveling hardwood circus come up with more brown acid to pass out to any idiot stupid enough to stick out his tongue. Just turn the sound down and turn it to Celtics-Pistons.

Finally, the only thing that would make us care one jot about Volleyball is this terrific video of lugnuts getting hit right in the Dumbledore with a vicious spike. Too bad they got up. What a waste of TV time.
