Well as Hunter S. Thompson unforgettably wrote in the conclusion to The Kentucky Derby is Decadent and Depraved, “I’ll kick your a#@ all the way to Bowling Green!”
A steakhouse owner saw OJ come into his restaurant and told him to his face, “I’m not serving you.” Good for the steakhouse owner. OJ cried that he’s suing for racism. What a chump, but what can you expect from a man found liable for two people’s deaths by stabbing. He’s a mindless thug. Everyone should patronize Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse whenever playing golf or touring through Louisville. When I play Valhalla next, I’m there.
That “lawsuit” will get dismissed in a heartbeat and OJ’ll have to pay the guy’s attorneys’ fees too. Racism. Please. I’d love to hear the phone calls. “Al? It’s OJ. Get me an angry mob outside that restaurant now…what? I’m washed up? Oh, now I see who my friends are…”
OJ, go back under your rock. Nobody cares about you except to see you in tatters, to revel in how much of a joke you are. You don’t like being treated this way? Tough noogies. Get on your knees and thank god you’re not getting beaten to a bloody pulp in prison.
Go ahead. Bring a frivolous, evil lawsuit. The Judge will kick your a@$ all the way to Bowling Green. The rest of us? Well we’ll laugh and applaud…just like everyone on the restaurant did that night when Jeff Ruby swung the social hammer of justice and knocked you out of his place with a resounding thud.
I’ve got to say I disagree with you on this one. I tend to think a better approach would have been simply to ignore him. The steakhouse owner accomplished nothing in refusing to serve OJ, other than to vent his own spleen, possibly get slapped with a lawsuit and ultimately give OJ exactly that which he craves; attention and ink. The pathetic thing is that OJ is one of those who feels that any publicity or attention, even highly negative, is better than being ignored…or treated like a nobody. The last thing in the world OJ wants is to go unnoticed. By the simple fact of acknowledging that he recognized the creep, Jeff Ruby was already giving him what he wants. Perhaps it was a visceral reaction on Mr. Ruby’s part or perhaps it made him feel good to vent his anger, but IMHO, it was ultimately counter productive. OJ probably walked out of there smug and smirking and self righteous.
GG, that;s one way to look at it. You can say that’s the high road. But celebs think they rule the world…just look at the way the bimbo summit (Paris, Brit and Lindsay) strut around. Paris thinks rules shouldn’t apply to her because of daddy’s wad, Lindsay allegedly does coke all night after being in what purports to be rehab (sources say the wonderland rehab dining hall has a wine list…A WINE LIST!) and Brit is from hell.
My thoughts are this: Ruby said to himself “not in my house.” It’s his place. If he feels that’s what he needs.to do, more power to him. He took a stand as an ordinary person against a celeb jerk. You’re right. Maybe OJ did walk out of there smug and self righteous..but its a win for normal people when a celeb jerk walks out smug and self righteous after being put in their place by what Shaquille O’Neal once derisively called “mere eartyhlings.” It better than the other option – them walking out smug and self righteous thinking their better than us..
