It was a perfect 6-0 for Barstow the cat, who filled in admirably for Ernesto the Prediction Iguana last week in making the magazine’s NFL Picks. Our first undefeated week here at GNN puts the season tally at a more-than-respectable 28-9 over all.

EAGLES +1/2 vs. dolphins
Sam Bradford has solidified the Eagles offense and the defense should handle an inconsistent Dolphins team that doesn’t travel well. The Dolphins came into the season with high hopes and a reasonable schedule. Instead they still search for answers and breakthroughs.
patriots -1 at GIANTS
It’s the regular season. The Giants can’t beat the Patriots until February…late January at the earliest.
AMBER ALERT
browns +10.5 at STEELERS
The Steelers can’t consistently move the chains with Landry Jones at the helm. Josh McCown is probable for the Browns and will put up enough points against a shaky Steelers secondary.
BRONCOS -1/2 vs. chiefs
Payton Manning needs just four yards to break the all-time NFL passing yardage record, currently held by Brett Favre. Star Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles us still out, and with no ground game, they’ll have a tough time stopping Denver’s viscous blitz schemes that could have Alex Smith running for his life in the pocket.

Interim Titans head coach Mike Mularkey won his first game against the Saints last week, but the Panthers don’t make as many mistakes as New Orleans. Their devastating D and well-balanced offense should be too much for a Tennessee squad deep in the throes of a rebuilding year, Marcus Mariota or no Marcus Mariota.
RAIDERS-vikings OVER 36.5
Don’t look now, but Minnesota is 6-2, and after two straight wins have tied the Packers for the lead in the NFC North. QB Teddy Bridgewater can move the team and will play this weekend despite being concussed in last week’s win against the Rams. Meanwhile Derek Carr has thrown three or more TDs in his last three games.
