Two bits of news and notes regarding friends of AWITP: Irish writer Brian Keogh is now an author and Tom Coyne has returned from France.
Brian Keogh is the star golf correspondent for the Irish Sun and the Irish Golf Desk. As one of the leading sports journalists on not one but two continents – and the son of a prominent sports writer – it was a just reward that Irish Club Laytown and Bettystown would select Brian to write their centenary history.
“Out of Bent and Sand” is out now, well in time for a Father’s Day gift. I’ll be reviewing the book after I finish my previews for Sawgrass and the Travis.
Finally, welcome home to Tom Coyne, who spent an extra few days in France thanks to EyaEyafreaking, Eyaayatollah, Eyasohein, the Iceland volcano no one can pronounce except Thor Hyerdahl.   Tom was obviously working on another super-secret literary project that we all anticipate to be a proper rejoinder to his wonderful book, A Course Called Ireland.
