This year, the 9th annual Golf magazine player poll touches on such topics as Barack Obama, (they hate him), slow play, (Ben Crane…again!), the Tiger scandals, (oh you won’t believe what they have to say!!!), and Phil Mickelson, who gets a resounding vote of support, (so much for that bogus Vanity fair article that unfairly and inaccurately painted him as the biggest phony in sports…).
They polled 71 of the 156 members, so the cross section should be accurate. Heck the Zogby and Quinnipiac polls never get such numbers:)
Here are two that would have any sane and responsible sports commissioner running for emergency meetings for resolution:
“Do you think Tiger used HGH or other performance-enhancing drugs?
Yes: 24%
No: 76%
Loose Lips: “I don’t know, but something’s not right.”
What percentage of married players are faithful to their wives?
90-100 percent: 60%
80-89 percent: 12%
70-79 percent: 17%
Under 70 percent: 11%
Loose Lips: “I’d like to say 100%, but we know that’s not true.”
The Tour needs to address the holes in the testing policy – specifically they need to test for HGH and masking agents. Otherwise they run the risk of being perceived as protecting the cheaters at the expense of the clean players.
