It’s the worst place to host a professional golf tournament because you’ll never rein in the crowd. Bathpage – the wet, soggy mildly overrated public favorite of New Yorkers and loudmouth fans is expedcted to be named host of the 2019 PGA Championship and the 2024 Ryder Cup.
Bad idea. They never shut the hell up at Bethpage. Worse still, dumb bunny writers and announcers will encourage everyone to make themselves part of the proceedings by harassing the Euros at every turn.

I reported this story way back in 2010 when I got word of a “swap” between the PGA and USGA – Bethpage for Oakland Hills straight up. We know who got the best of that one. Oakland Hills is already hosting the 2016 U.S. Amateur.
