We picked Iceland. (Well, the iguana did….You can read it here.) With Blar Blar Bjarssosson’s goal in the 94th minute against Austria, Iceland just became everyone’s favorite team. (Actually it’s “Arnor Ingvi Traustason’s” goal…) It’s England against the world now! We had them advancing as a Wild Card, but they locked up second with their last second heroics. Iceland stole Netherlands’ spot in the tournament, now they finished above Portugal and prima donna malcontent Cristiano Ronaldo’s derisive dismissal of their game.
Meanwhile Italy gets screwed again! Spain then Germany! Oh well…they seem to play their best against the stiffest competition, except for that 4-0 spaking four years ago in the final.
Here are Ernesto’s picks for the next two rounds. We had 11/16 in round 1.

Projected winner: Croatia over Switzerland.
B. WALES-N.IRL, HUNG-BELG
Projected winner: Belgium over Who Cares…err…I mean Belgium over Northern Ireland…because they have better golf courses…
C. GER-SLO, ITA-SPA
Projected winner: Germany over Spain in a whiz-bang match.
D. ENGL-ICEL, FRA-IRL
Projected winner: France over Iceland. Do you really think FIFA will have the host team out before the semis?
