After surging to a huge lead, the score was 15.5 – 8.5 going into singles, Virginia mounted a furious comeback over the back nine at Blue Ridge Shadows Golf Club before bowing late, 19.5 to. 16.5. The surge was shocking considering that five of Virginia’s first six players off in the Sunday Singles were a combined 3-14-2 and were facing adversaries with a combined 12-5-3.
