The 2015 Jazzy Awards – Player of the Year Jordan Spieth

poy

For the first seven months of the year, Jordan Spieth was the face of sports, not just golf. He became only the sixth golfer to win both the Masters and U.S. Open in the same yea, and made a valiant run at the Open Championship, (at St. Andrews no less…), only to fall one shot shy of the 3-way playoff eventually won by Zach Johnson.

Jason Day made it a race by catching fire in late summer, winning five times, including an all-time record-shattering romp at the US PGA, where he dismembered supposedly difficult Whistling Straits.

Still, Spieth had one final run in him, and with his securing the FedEx Cup and the bloated 10 million in prize money, Jordan put paid to all the talk that maybe Day stole the PoY honors with his late surge.
