The U.S.G.A. announced minutes ago that Shinnecock Hills will host the 2018 U.S. Open. The announcement was greeted with excitement by the media and golf industry. Shinny as it is known to its friends will host its fourth U.S. Ope. and third since 1986. It also hosted the second ever National Open in 1896.
