“Highlighted by the pairing of 2009 PGA Champion Y.E. Yang, four-time PGA Champion Tiger Woods and 2004 PGA Champion Vijay Singh, as well the traditional grouping of the winners of the first three major golf championships of 2010, The PGA of America today announced the pairings for the first two rounds (Aug. 12-13) of the 92nd PGA Championship at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wis.
Yang, Woods and Singh (who won the first PGA Championship contested on the Straits course at Whistling Straits), will tee off Thursday at 8:20 a.m. (CDT) on the 10th hole. On Friday, they will begin play at 1:35 p.m. CDT on the first tee.
American Phil Mickelson, the reigning Masters Champion (also the 2005 PGA Champion) will be joined in the threesome of 2010 major winners by U.S. Open Champion Graeme McDowell and Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen. They will tee off in the opening round on Thursday, at 1:35 p.m. (CDT) on the first hole and will begin play on the 10th tee on Friday at 8:20 a.m. CDT.
The 92nd PGA Championship features the strongest field in golf, and currently includes 98 of the top 100 ranked players in the world.”
