Jon Rahm Won the Green Jacket but Dan Hasty won the Masters

MOVE OVER JIM NANTZ, DAN HASTY WANTS TO CHAT WITH IAN BAKER-FINCH

Jon Rahm Won the Green Jacket but Dan Hasty won the Masters this weekend.

“Wait, who the hell is Dan Hasty?” you may be asking. Don’t look for him in the Players Guide, he’s not there. In fact, he’s not even a golfer. And he wasn’t even in Georgia last week. But he metaphorically won the Masters last weekend with his hilarious call of a minor league baseball game on Saturday.

Hasty does play by play for his local minor league baseball franchise, the West Michigan Whitecaps. At the top of the seventh inning, he piped in the Masters theme song over the PA system and called the baseball game a la Jim Nantz setting the table for a Sunday finish! There’s so many highlights to choose from, but deadpanning “looking at a pitch from 60’6” and calling a double off the wall “exquisite.”

Dan and friends, thank you for calling an inning unlike any other.

Hat tip:  Golf Digest for the find.
