Ernesto is roaring like a lion after a 5-1 week, 2-1 in teasers. That swells the season totals to a robust 38-14, 16-10 in teasers. We won last week with the Patriots (6-1 for us this season), the Saints (4-0 for us), the Texans, the Colts, and the Packers (1-0 this season with each). Our lone loss was betting against the Browns (3-2 on that score this year).
So here’s this week’s winners before they happen. As always, we do 2-team teasers here, so we can move the line six points either way. We use the lines from www.vegasinsider.com, HOME TEAM IN CAPS.
GREEN LIGHT!
PATRIOTS 1/2 vs. vikings
bears +1.5 at GIANTS
Can you believe some of the New York writers were thinking about a playoff run for the Giants as late as last week??!! Put down the pom poms! Time for the Bears to win with defense, an important test for the playoff run. Meanwhile the Patriots are still the best bet in the AFC in parleys…maybe in the entire league, although New Orleans is the hotter team and sexier pick right now…
ALSO GREEN LIGHT!
EAGLES -1 vs. redskins
rams +3.5 at LIONS
That’s a cheap price for an explosive Rams team. Can you say “track meet?” Detro has weapons, but can’t keep up. Meanwhile when it comes to the Redskins, “Knock him out, count ’em out.” The Eagles may have bucked the odds last year with a replacement QB, but only Landry Jones is a more hapless scrub as a back-up.
ROAD DOGS!
panthers +2 at BUCCANEERS
ravens +3.5 at FALCONS
The Panthers aren’t the same quality team that played in a Super Bowl just a few short years ago, but they still can light it up. The Bucs are in disarray, flailing on all sides of the ball. The Falcons are little better, and with Baltimore’s defense on the rise, Matt Ryan could have a long day. Flacco just needs a clean QB sheet to bring home the W and keep their slim playoff hopes alive. After all, Pittsburgh has a rough road coming up the rest of the way.
LOOK BUT DON’T TOUCH – FOR GAMBLING DEGENERATES ONLY!
SEAHAWKS -3 vs. 49ers
saints -1 at COWBOYS
This week, you also get the Saints at a superb price, even on the road in Jerrah-ville, a tough place to play. Like the Panthers, the Seahawks are a glimmer of their former selves, and may not even be playoff bound, but the Niners are garbage without Garoppolo
