Indy Pass Hurtles Into 2022-23 Season With More Resorts, New Affiliate Partners for Same Low Price

WHALEBACK BECOMES ONE OF THE FIRST OF THE NEW INDY PASS AFFILIATES, EXPANDING THE COMPANY’S FOOTPRINT AND ENLARGING THE SKI MAP FOR TRAVELING SKIERS.

Is Indy Pass the best deal for dedicated powder hounds with wanderlust? Perhaps even by an order of magnitude? It’s hard to argue with their wild success in just three years of existence. With a whopping 92 resorts and counting on their international roster, skiers anywhere are bound to find several superb options in America, while it seems the sky’s the limit for international expansion after recent coups.

Northeastern skiers choose between such top notch eastern mainstays as Jay Peak, Waterville Valley, and Cannon, while boarders out west have phenomenal options in spots like Brundage and Tamarack in Idaho, Powder Mountain in Utah, and Red Lodge in Montana. The midwest is well represented with And the magical, siren-like pull of the Canadian Rockies and British Columbia shines brightly at Apex, Sasquatch, and Castle.

Better still, proving that founder Doug Fish has his finger firmly on the pulse of skiing’s cultural zeitgeist, Indy Pass added a fistful of Japanese resorts to their already growing international stable of venues.  Can Chile be far off? Santiago is touted to be the latest, greatest destination for the jetset and cognoscenti of our sport, and Fish consistently demonstrates his  commitment to finding great skiing in otherwise unheralded places, (like Arizona’s Sunrise Park Resort in Greer, another new addition to the stable of mountains). Besides Sunrise, new resorts debuting this year include Kelly Canyon in Idaho, Bluewood in Washington, and Enchanted Forest Cross-country center n New Mexico.

Now for the great news:  all pricing stays exactly the same for this year as last – Indy Base Pass remains $299 for adults, $139 for kids, and the Indy+ Pass stays $399, $189 for kids. An Indy AddOn pass, which requires a season pass at a partner resort is just $199, $99 for kids.

Better still, there are fewer blackout dates and an easier time navigating the few that remain. Total blackout days on the base pass are reduced by 7%. Further, all blackouts have also been consolidated into four clear periods:

  • December 24 – January 2 (21 Resorts)
  • January 14-16 and February 18-20 (23 Resorts)
  • Saturdays: December 24 – March 11 (11 Resorts)
  • Sundays: December 25 – March 12 (5 Resorts)
  • 21/22 vs. 22/23 Blackout Comparisons

Dropped All Blackouts:  Saddleback Mountain, Blacktail Mountain, Sundown Mountain

New Blackouts for 22/23:  Antelope Butte, Berkshire East, Buck Hill, Catamount, Eaglecrest Ski Area, Pats Peak, Red Lodge Montana, Suicide Six

Reduced Blackouts:  Beaver Mountain, Cannon Mountain, Mission Ridge, Powder Mountain, Sasquatch Mountain, White Pass,

Still NO Blackouts:  Jay Peak, Bolton Valley, Tamarack Resort, Spirit Mountain, plus 60 more.

We’ll wait for the cheering from all the Jay Peak fans to subside…and rest assured, we share your joy. Jay Peak is sick! (That’s sick in the new sense of the word, meaning “super cool,” not sick in the old sense of the word, as in “down with disease.”) For a complete list of resorts and their corresponding blackout days go to Indy Pass 22/23 Blackout Dates by Resort.

Moreover,  Indy Pass recently announced a new category – Indy Allied Resorts – that will offer discounted lift tickets to Indy Pass holders. The first resorts to join this new strata of Indy Pass alignment are Bousquet Mountain, MA, Burke Mountain, VT, Dartmouth Skiway, NH,McIntyre Ski Area, NH, Middlebury College Snow Bowl, VT, and Whaleback Mountain, NH

Lift tickets will be discounted by 25% on holidays and weekends from December 24 through March 12, 2023, and by 50% on all other days. Indy Pass holders must show ID at the ticket window in order to purchase their lift tickets. There is a limit of one non-transferable lift ticket per day per Indy Pass holder. Allied Resorts’ unrestricted season passholders are eligible to purchase Indy AddOn Passes which are discounted up to 30%. Season passholders can purchase the AddOn Pass at indyskipass.com.

“This new Indy Pass program is a bonus to all pass holders,” beamed an ebullient Doug Fish, clearly overjoyed at his brainchild’s meteoric rise to prominence in such a competitive and close-knit industry. “Now Indy pass holders and their guests have an even wider spectrum of resorts to explore. Both the pass holders and resorts can benefit from this alliance.”
