Great Italian Food at the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines – Sole Luna!

Bella Alle! That’s what grateful ragazzi e bellisime say to Italian ex=pat and now proud American Alessandro Speroni for opening the Sole Luna Cafe in San Diego, California. Hungry U.S. Open patrons who love Italian food and cappucino should run not walk to his cafe on Ash Street in the downtown quarter, especially if they are fans Italy’s worlds champion soccer team, the Azzuri.

Tender, flavorful mozzarella, scented and oiled artisan salamis, exquisite prosciutto de parma, fresh fruits, and dynamite espresso and will tantalize every lover of fine Italian foods. Among the fine dishes available, many diners recommend the paninis, such as Affumicato (Smoked Turkey and smoked mozzarella panini with radicchio and rosemary), Genovese (Prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, tomato, and pesto), or Milano (salami, brie and LT).

As Alessandro is Bolgnese, several pasta dishes reflect his home city, including Canneloni Bolognese with meat sauce and Ravioli Boscaioli, (mushroom ravs with creamy, meaty bolognese sauce). Savory entrees include Eggplant Parmigiana (who doesn’t like eggplant parm?) and Chicken Valdostano with white wine, rosemary and creamy gorgonzola.

Sole Luna is located at 702 Ash Street,l Suite E, San Diego, phone 619.232.0436. Go on in and say Bella Alle! and tell him Giovanni sent you. Forza Italia!
