Golf Course Trades Runs my Shinnecock Hills Piece, Winged Foot and Conklin Players Club Coming Soon

THE PAR-3 THIRD AT WINGED FOOT WEST. MAKE SURE TO ASK CONRAD ALBERT TO PLAY THROUGH HIS YARD:)

We’ll have two new pieces at Golf Course Trades in the next two months.

THE APPROACH TO 18 WEST

One is on mighty Winged Foot, super Steve Rabideau, and the Anderson Memorial. (I played the West Course on club championship weekend, and OH MY GOD 3-1/2 ROUGH< TEES BACK, AND GREENS AT 13. Why not just slather me in BBQ sauce and turn the velociraptors loose?) Both courses, fresh off Gil Hanse restorations, were absolutely perfect. The other is on Conklin Players Club, one of the great secrets of American public golf. It's a golf feel-good, DIY story of a family who took a flier on building and designing a golf course and built a regional favorite that everyone can play dirt cheap. They’ll be up soon; in the meantime, here’s my Shinnecock Hills review. Oh, and for those of you wondering what’s next up, it’s Monterey Peninsula Country Club.
