In Memoriam: Matt Miller (1968 – 2007) – all around great guy

My circle of friends and the entire Trinity college community mourns the loss of Matt Miller, ’86, DKE, varsity lacrosse and all around great guy.  Matt was a passionate, dedicated and upstanding man who fought injustice wherever he found it.  People gathered around his leadership like moths drawn to the flame.

39 is too young to die and no parents should ever have to bury their child.  Parents, hug your kids extra hard tonight because we’re all so close.  Diagnosed with a brain tumor on Friday, gone from us on Sunday. It’s not right.  Rebecca, Wallace, Tate and Morgan, I am so sorry for you.  I’ll keep you in my prayers for a long time.
The only thing I can think of is that Matt was so good at doing the right thing that God decided to promote him right away.  He will make a terrific guardian angel.

Matt I know you can see me up there…and when I look into my heart, I can still feel you and all the wisdom you championed.  You made the Honor Roll.  My deepest regret is that I never got one last chance to tell you how much I respected you. Via Con Dios, amigo.  And thanks for setting such a good example.
