Tiger Sticks with Mark Steinberg, Will Leave IMG

From Tiger Woods himself, via Twitter:

“Staying with Mark Steinberg. Total Confidence in him. Excited about the next stage in my professional life. Fond memories of Mark McCormack
.”

Speaking to Darren Rovell of CNBC – a business network…always playing the angles are Steiney and Tiger – Steiney said:

On where he’s going to go…

Steinberg: “I haven’t made a decision yet, I’m analyzing it as I speak. I was surprised at all the opportunities that were out there. It’s been eye opening and prettying invigorating.”

On if Tiger is still drawing corporate interest…

Steinberg: “There’s a lot of interest in him. We just have to get him back on the golf course so that corporations that want to capitalize on him can do so.”

Is interest all about winning?

Steinberg: “Winning is a component. Look at what LeBron went through. Now he’s two wins away from erasing all that.”

Could the other components be a better, more humble, penitent, and more respectful image?

My guess: As usual, don’t look for transparency, don’t look for accountability, don’t look for truth, and don’t look for interviews unless you want to play ball or have something they need. Meet the new Tiger…same as the old Tiger, only with melted wings.

Meanwhile, Larry Fine of Reuters has this article. Good job, Larry.
