In Memoriam Tim Rosaforte, Preeminent Golf Writer and Broadcaster (1955-2022)

ONE OF GOLF’S GREATEST JOURNALISTS, TIM ROSAFORTE, HAS PASSED AT 66

It’s a dark day for golf writers – another of our immortals has passed. Tim Rosaforte of Golf World and Golf Channel lost his battle with Alzheimer’s Disease yesterday.

Rosaforte blended intelligence, grace, and candor as a sports journalist, casually interacting with pro golfers, fans, journalists, and everyone in between no matter how strong or new their ties to golf. He treated beggar and king with the same honesty, charm, and sincerity.

Rock solid with both facts and analysis, Rosie (as he was known to his friends) was a pros pro as a journalist. Trusted by the players, his media colleagues, and his viewers and readers, Rosie was to golf journalism what MacNeil and Lehrer were to news:  reliable, prompt, thorough, and fair.

The only thing that surpassed his ability as a sports journalist was his warm and welcoming soul. True friend to countless people both in golf and in the world at large, to know Rosie was to have shared laughter, fun, and wisdom. Tune in here and at Golf News Net for more.
