Sadly, Rutgers University was never in the running in their own event as the Kansas University Jayhawks held off a furious rally from the Purdue Boileermakers to win the inaugural NCAA Harbor Cup at Bayonne Golf Club. Kansas finished the three day tournament 25-under to Purdue’s 23-under. Little Rock and Michigan State finished a distant tiedc for third at 11-under. Rutgers finished 5th out of the nine teams at 6-under. Nebraska finished last, a dismal 62 shots behind at 37-over par.
Arthur Carlier of Kansas and Jensen Forrester of Purdue tied for medalist honors at 12-under for the three days.
