NEWRY, MAINE – Maine’s iconic Sunday River just opened a game changer; the new Jordan Hotel brings ski-in and ski-out convenience to the emerging Western Reserve Area of the resort.
Already sprawled across seven peaks traversing over four miles, Sunday River’s western expansion has been a smash hit – first with the “Oz” pod of trails offering increasingly difficult glade skiing and some rousing groomer as well, then with the ever-growing Jordan Bowl trail pod and corresponding new Doppelmeyer D-Line eight-person lift on line, dubbed the “Jordan 8.” Now the new hotel brings two important upgrades. First, on mountain accommodations were getting a little long in the tooth over at the other side of the mountain. The new hotel sparkles dazzlingly with brand new everything. Moreover, it brims with amenities including coffee shop, full fitness center, heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi, ultra-modern spa, valet parking, lift ticket pickup and more. Additionally, it will space mountain traffic further across the mountain more evenly. Rooms run from studio sized to three-bedroom suites.
“Set in the most spectacular mountain location in New England, the Jordan Hotel is the premier address at Sunday River and offers sweeping views of the resort’s western peaks and across the valley toward the Mahoosuc Range. Located slopeside with immediate access to some of the best ski terrain at the resort,” the resort states, rightfully proud of their new flagship accommodation.
The resort features 155 trails as we go to press, and an average vertical drop of over 1,250 feet across its eight separate summits, with some dropping as far as 1,630 feet from top to bottom.
