Skiing Poem – The Fox and the Wolves

The Fox and the Wolves

(Set to the tune of Rush’s song “The Trees”)

There is unrest in the forest,

There is trouble in the trees,

For the wolves spotted a red fox,

But the fox escaped on skis.

The trouble with the wolfpack

(And they quite insist they’re right)

Is that they think the fox too simple

He will fall beneath their might!

But the red fox is a skier

And for moguls he was made

He can ride the bumps forever

But the wolves just masquerade

So, the wolfpack lay an ambush

They had set a clever snare

They thought they’d net the red fox

But a huge brown bear was there!

So, the wolves, they had to cheese it.

They dispersed into the shade

And the red fox still skis swiftly

Bouncing blithely through the glade…
