Golf Architecture Vol. 4 by Paul Daley

Far more than just a coffee table book with pretty pictiures, Australia’s Paul Daley has published his fourth volume on Golf Architecture, chuck ful of interesting and instructive articles from the brightest minds in the golf design and literature businesses. There is some terrific insight from such writing luminaries as Lorne Rubenstein and architects like Tom Doak, Kelly Blake Moran, John Fought, and Dr. Michael Hurdzan. Jeff Mingay and MItch Scarborough have impressive pieces, on Garden City Golf Club and Fossil Trace respectively, and there is a great deal of fine work by others as well. I am humbled and thrilled to have my article comparing Tobacco Road and Pulp Fiction included.

Here are some of the courses discussed in the various chapters: Garden City Golf Club, Fossil Trace, Tobacco Road, We-ko-pa, (Saguaro), Pine Needles, Fisher’s Island, Ceann Sibeal, and Ekwanok. (Pronounced eh-KWON-ick), along with countless other interesting topics such as Golf in the Netherlands, Belgium, Australia, and  Iceland, bunker forms, and building courses on lava or rock.  Amazon.com has them for a bargain.
