The Jay Flemma NFL Football Picks Season Begins!

So I’m coming off one of my three best years ever. The other two were when I – due to my QB getting hurt for the season!! – drafted Kurt Warner in Fantasy League in 1999 (Cha-ching!!), then in 2004 when I got in a league with all Lions fans!! Ha-ha wasn’t that fun! I had Steelers galore and they won the Super Bowl to boot!

We do teasers here., so you get to move the line six points any way you want, and I went 20-12 in teaser bets and 44-18 overall last year.

We also NEVER start betting here until after the fifth week of the season because we – smartly – wait a few weeks for teams to identify themselves. By the way, my condolences to all the nimrods in my survivor league that had the Giants over the She-hawks. Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!!

So here we go:

AFC EAST COMBO SPECIAL!!

JETS -1 vs. Dolphins
PATRIOTS -1 vs. Cowboys

The Pats were an ATM machine last year. So were the Ravens. The Dolphins have no QB. Jets, shut your pie-holes for good if you lose this game. Is there anything funnier than when the entire Blackwater crew shouts “J-E-S-S-JESS! JESS! JESS!” at Jessica Radziulis during games?

THE “YOU’RE A STEELER FAN AND YOU’RE PICKING THAT?” SPECIAL

RAIDERS -Even- vs. Browns
Jaguars +19.5 at STEELERS

The Raiders look much improved (as do the Bills). Are they for real? You have to beat the Browns straight up to be legit, don’t you? Love my Stillers, but 19.5 is a lot for them to give up. Historically, Jacksonville plays us close and knows our tendencies. Rashean Mathis dines on Steeler QBs.

Tomlin to Santonio Holmes in ’09 – “They matchin’ Mathis up on you, I want you to take that as a challenge. Want you to go to work all night tonight.”

PLAY CAREFULLY

Rams +21 at PACKERS
Panthers +10.5 at FALCONS

That 21 to the Rams is a boatload of points, but while I never lost a 20 point spread last year, in the first few weeks one tester bet of the 20+ nature would not have cashed had I made it. Plus the Rams are a dismal -67 point differential. Still 21 is enough to reasonably tie the bet and get it to a wash at worst, one hopes…play carefully. The Panthers do look much better under Cam Newton, but they’re still 1-4.
