No one is picking Padraig Harrington at the 2008 Masters but they should

Nobody, and I mean nobody on any network or magazine, has picked Padraig Harrington. Why? He’s the reigning British Open champion, he won at Carnasty, and he’s tough as nails. Everyone is overlooking him because they underestimate the European Tour players. Justin Rose is another name that no one is mentioning, then they’ll all act surprised to see him on the leaderboard.

Yes, Woods is a prohibitive favorite, but ethnocentrism has unwittingly blinded the eyes of the golf media. The buzz always misses the story because they try to force the event into their perception, rather than standing by and observing and analyzing. There will be planty of unexpected drama this week. Meanwhile, watch for more coverage here, at Cybergolf and pga.com.
